Athletics Photos

Athletics day

Athletics day - By Victoria

Yesterday it was school athletics day.  The whole school had to take part. I will tell you about each event that what we did.

In sprints  you have to run really fast and pump your arms.
I like it because you feel the air on your face.

On long jump you have to run then there will be a mat there will be 3 colours you have to stand on the last one or  the other colours you can not step over or it will not count.
Then you land on the sand.
I like it because it is not hard.

In javelin you have to throw a plastic rocket.
I like it because you just throw.

In high jump you have to run and scissor jump over the bar.
I don't like it because the bar I jump over is bigger than me.

In shot put you have to get a heavy ball that will be small and you have to give it a push.
I like it because the ball feels funny.

Long jump is my favourite event because it's not hard and it's fun.

Finely I am finished ! Thank you for reading and remember to read how to say hello in other languages! Bye.

Review of guess who?

Today I tried playing guess who?
It was fun because it had animals and people .
One thing I did not like was that it was quite boring.
I think it would be better if if was a little bit more mysterious.
That would be cool.
So today I am going it 9 stars out of 10 stars but that is okay.

Review of Beetle Game by Andy

What I like about it is :
I have nothing to like about it because I think only year four or younger can have fun with this game.
what I don't like about it is :
It took too long to do it, and the parts are all missing.
I think if the body parts are not missing , and if the beetles were bigger it would be a better game , so I give it a half star only.

Review of Pop the Pirate by Roy

What I like about it is it is exiting, fun and cool. When the pirate pops out it makes you laugh. There should be a place to write the score each time the pirate pops .I think it would be better if  there is more space to put the swords in. So I think  its a good game to play and I give it 10 stars.

Review of Monkey Drop game by Catherine.

What l like about it is exiting, because it gets harder at the end.

What l don't like about it is it takes too long to set up the sticks, because the sticks is so many. And you need to take sticks out even if all the monkey are on one sticks.

I think it would better if it got higher.

So l think it was a fun game. I give it four stars!

Cultural shared lunch with friends, teachers and family.

To finish off term 3 we had a shared lunch.
Everyone bought a plate of food that is typical of their culture.
We invited parents, teachers and a few friends to join us.
Before we ate, each student presented a poster about their culture that we had made in class.
For some students it was the very FIRST time they had spoken in English in front of a large group.
Everyone did so well - We were very proud of each other!

Rabbits visit our ESOL class...

Thomas in Room 12 brought his pet rabbits Lettuce and Daisy in to visit us.
Some of us held the rabbits.  They felt soft and fluffy.
Thomas told us they were "molting" which means they are losing their fur.
We had to shake our jumpers outside after touching them.
Youngheen discovered that rabbits have sharp claws! ouch!
Thanks to Thomas for sharing with us.

Fairy Tales

We have been reading some traditional fairy tales...
Image result for traditional fairytales three little pigs

We started with Little Red Riding Hood and The Three Little Pigs.
We re-told the stories, wrote some character descriptions, and we used a Venn Diagram to compare and contrast the wolves from each tale.
Have a look below at the fantastic work Chris completed.

We also read Goldilocks and the Three Bears,
Each person in our class took a part to re-tell, then we put it all together to make a class book.
We will publish this soon.

The Rainbow Fish

We read The Rainbow Fish by Marcus Pfister.

A lovely friendship story about how showing kindness and sharing with others can make you happy.

We re-told the story in our own words and drew pictures of the rainbow fish.
We focused on using adjectives and adverbs to make a simple sentence more interesting.

Have a look at some of our work below:
