Auckland Museum

We had a great day at Auckland Museum - there was so much to look at we needed more time!
We focused mainly on learning about Maori traditions and history, in particular the natural materials the Maori people used then (and still use now).  Next Friday we will follow up by making our own Pounamu Pendants using clay.

Painting rocks and popping corn

Last Friday we painted some rocks to go around our pear tree in the school garden.
We discussed a wide range of vocabulary that we would use in the garden and we choose to paint some of these words using Chinese characters on our rocks.
After painting we decided to pop some popcorn for a well deserved snack!
